Daniel Ioannisyan Responds to Anna Hakobyan

Daniel Ioannisyan, the coordinator of the "Informed Citizens" initiative and a member of the "Independent Observer" alliance, has responded to Anna Hakobyan. She announced today that she is considering the possibility of taking legal action against Ioannisyan.

"I fully accept Anna Hakobyan's statement about suing us and filing a complaint against me. It is entirely normal for a person against whom we have initiated legal proceedings to attempt to start a process against us. Nevertheless, with all due respect to Anna Hakobyan (and I say this without sarcasm, as I have worked with her at HJ), I must note that the legal provisions she referenced (torture, discrimination, etc.) are, to put it mildly, surprising. I think Mrs. Hakobyan does not have a clear understanding of what torture is and who can commit it, and who, even theoretically, cannot. In any case, we continue to insist that the "My Step" foundation is associated with the Prosperous Armenia party, and let anyone who says otherwise cast stones at me.

As for the charity work conducted by the foundation led by a member of the Prosperous Armenia party during the elections in certain regions in 2022, if what Mrs. Hakobyan claims actually took place, then it involves criminal liability, and it has escaped our notice (the long-term observation of local elections is not conducted that meticulously)," wrote Ioannisyan.
