Tatev Hakobyan Retires: Armenian Weightlifter Explains Decision

On the final competitive day of the European Weightlifting Championship held in Batumi, Georgia, the women’s super heavyweight athletes took to the stage, as reported by the Armenian Weightlifting Federation.

"Member of the Armenian national team, Tatev Hakobyan lifted 102 kg and 106 kg in the snatch. In the clean and jerk, she held a weight of 125 kg overhead. With a combined total of 231 kg, Tatev Hakobyan finished in 12th place at the European Championship. In a poignant moment, during her last attempt, she removed her weightlifting shoes and left them on the competition platform, signaling her retirement from professional sports," noted the Armenian Weightlifting Federation.
