It's All Lies: We Won't Drain Your Credits - Marukyan on Political Forces
Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the 'Enlightened Armenia' party, commented on the recent incident at the White House, stating, "If you see how the secret service removes the vice president and the president, you will understand what a state with established institutions looks like."
“I had planned to talk about the elections today, and it is already known that 19 political forces have submitted documents to the CEC. What does this large number indicate? It shows that political institutions in the Republic of Armenia are still not established, the political system is not developed, and political forces sprout like mushrooms after the rain, especially before elections. When there are 19 political forces, people are left questioning whom to vote for; this is one of the most pressing concerns. Between 30% to 40% of voters have not decided whom to choose, which is a very interesting situation, and in established democracies, such a scenario wouldn’t happen. For example, how can parties register just a week before the elections? There is no political pathway, trajectory, experience, or wisdom. If we continue to vote for forces that register a week before the elections, this country will never see peace.
“Among these political forces is the 'Enlightened Armenia' party. We have stated that we will not present a consumerist program—what does a consumer program even mean? It means all lies, that we will come in and drain your credits, that you need medicine, and you will receive all medicines for free. We will not run a campaign like that. We are a real political force; we can write laws, and we can defend Armenia’s interests on international platforms. We know at what stage the negotiation process is, and we know what can be done to avoid war. The others don't know anything about it.
“In this context, we look at the established institutions in the U.S.; see how those institutions have developed through experience. They would never elect a president at the age of 25 in the U.S. They have developed their country based on experience—finding someone with experience and saying, ‘Come serve here,’ or that person comes forward and says, ‘I’m ready to serve,’ and they elect him to serve.
“Returning to our situation, we will not run a consumerist campaign; we will speak about the country's security, border delimitation, and fortifying our maps. We will address issues that we understand and many do not. We know the solutions to these problems. We will make our proposals through broadcasts, we will travel across the territory of the Republic, engaging in conversations with you whenever possible. But primarily, know that you can find us, get acquainted with our program through broadcasts, and you must determine whom to choose among these 19 forces. We advise you to go vote for us, for our team, on June 7; we have formed a professional team capable of being law-writing representatives and lawmakers who formulate policies.”
