New Checkpoint Opens on Iran-Turkey Border

A new customs checkpoint named Gurbulak has been launched on the Turkish side of the Iran-Turkey border, aiming to enhance bilateral economic cooperation and transit capabilities, according to Mehr News Agency.

The newly opened customs post is expected to significantly boost and expand economic interaction and transit opportunities between the two countries. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Turkey's Trade Minister Omer Bolat, the Governor of Iran's West Azerbaijan Province Reza Rahmani, and other officials.

According to the officials, the operation of this checkpoint will play a key role in strengthening bilateral economic ties.

The new customs checkpoint is located opposite the Bazargan customs terminal and is classified among Iran's vital transit routes. Approximately 200,000 transit trucks pass through this border crossing annually.
