Australia's Flags Mistakenly Raised in Washington Ahead of King Charles III's Visit
The authorities of the District of Columbia mistakenly displayed several Australian flags near the White House instead of British flags ahead of the visit of King Charles III to the United States, a representative of the district's transportation department has informed Reuters.
Among more than 230 flags put up to welcome the British monarch, 15 Australian flags appeared for a brief period. According to the agency's source, they were promptly replaced with British flags.
King Charles III's visit to Washington is scheduled for April 27, aiming to restore the "special relationship" between the two allies, which has reached its lowest point in the last 70 years due to the war with Iran.
