We are launching a new initiative in partnership with the EU - Deputy Foreign Minister
On May 4-5, Yerevan will host the first Armenia-EU summit, which will take place alongside the European Political Community summit. In an interview with Public Television, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan announced that, in addition to the European Political Community summit, there will also be a separate Armenia-EU summit in Yerevan on May 4-5.
The event will be co-chaired by the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of the European Council Charles Michel, and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
According to the Deputy Minister, this is the first summit in a bilateral format where the Armenia-EU agenda will be discussed. Specifically, the focus will be on visa liberalization and the EU’s assistance to Armenia.
“In addition, considering the developments in the region over the past year, we will have significant discussions on communication issues and how we can enhance investments in Armenia. Together with the EU, we are launching a new initiative that will open a new window for investment policy. The European Union will support the private sector and promote private sector investments in Armenia through various instruments,” said Vahan Kostanyan.
The Deputy Minister also informed that after the aforementioned high-level meetings, an annual diplomatic forum called “Yerevan Dialogues” will be organized in the capital. Several high-ranking European officials will remain in Yerevan to participate in this event.
