The U.S. Employs Special Gun Against Iran
For the first time in 38 years, the U.S. Navy has deployed a deck-mounted gun against Iran. An anonymous representative of the U.S. Navy informed the portal that the last undeniable instance of using such a gun against another ship occurred during Operation 'Praying Mantis.'
This operation took place on April 18, 1988, in the Persian Gulf as a response to the explosion of a frigate on an Iranian mine. During this time, the U.S. destroyed one Iranian frigate, one patrol boat, and two oil platforms. It was the largest naval battle for the United States since World War II.
