Russia Receives Invitation for High-Level Participation from the USA
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Alexander Pankin, has announced that Russia has received an invitation to participate at a high level in the G20 summit taking place in the United States.
According to Pankin, the country has been invited to attend at the highest level, but it remains unclear who will ultimately represent Russia at the meeting. “There is an invitation for attendance at the highest level, but we will see closer to the date; God knows what will happen by then,” Mr. Pankin stated during a press conference at the UN headquarters.
Previously, Russia's G20 Sherpa, Svetlana Lukash, noted that the American side is preparing for a possible visit by President Vladimir Putin to the event. The G20 leaders' summit is scheduled for December 14-15 in Miami. The White House has stated its intention to restore the organization's original mission of promoting global economic growth and prosperity.
