We Must Know the Truth, It Can Be Painful: Zakharova
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, deemed the remarks made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the threat of a "nuclear Holocaust" stemming from Iran as unacceptable.
Zakharova considered the Israeli leader's assertion that his country has supposedly neutralized the anticipated danger of a "nuclear Holocaust" from Iran to be intolerable. "This is unacceptable because, first of all, it harms those whom they intend to protect. One cannot defend by distorting the tragic history of one's own people. We must know the truth. It can be heavy. It can be painfully unbearable. It can vary. But we must know it, rather than reshape it for political purposes during this time," Zakharova noted.
