She Distorts the Tragic History of Her Own People: Zakharova
The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has deemed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's assertion about the threat of a "nuclear holocaust" stemming from Iran as unacceptable. The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that such statements harm those whom they intend to protect.
The diplomat emphasized that it is impossible to ensure protection through the distortion of the tragic history of one's own people. According to her, it is essential to know the truth, no matter how difficult or painful it may be, and that it should not be distorted for political purposes.
On the previous day, Maria Zakharova accused the Israeli government leader of misrepresenting concepts. In her assessment, the mention of Auschwitz, Majdanek, and Sobibor in this context reflects a disrespectful attitude toward the memory of all victims of the Second World War.
