Not Related to the Pre-Election Period: Baghdasaryan's Statement
The press secretary of the Prime Minister has commented on the establishment of a new EU civilian mission in Armenia aimed at countering hybrid threats. At a press conference dedicated to the Government's studies on disinformation campaigns, Nazeli Baghdasaryan spoke about the EU Foreign Relations Council's decision to deploy a new civilian mission in Armenia.
Addressing the question of what tools will be used to counter disinformation during the pre-election period and whether these will be provided to the media or state agencies, the press secretary emphasized that the discussion is about civilian deployment, and information on the timelines is already available.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs communicated this topic yesterday, and it is not related to the pre-election period at all, as it will be deployed for a duration of two years. I want this deployment to be in no way connected with the rapid response group, which has also been active during this period. I want to clarify that these are two separate functions, and in this case, it is for a period of two years. We will inform you about actions, cooperation, and we may also work with the media. The goal is one: to enhance informational resilience, including against hybrid threats,” she stated.
