Narek Karapetyan Makes Dramatic Revelations: Arman Yeghoyan

“The leader of the ‘Strong Armenia’ alliance, Narek Karapetyan, has made two dramatic revelations yesterday and today,” wrote Arman Yeghoyan, a member of the National Assembly from the My Step faction on his Facebook page.

“One revelation is that his father voluntarily wrote a letter and left the high position of chief of staff to the President of Armenia 'because he didn’t like the style of work of the public apparatus' and... became a deputy in the ruling Republican Party faction in the National Assembly (probably because he liked the working style of the Republican Party faction). The second dramatic revelation is that foreign citizens can acquire ‘land for the construction and maintenance of private residential houses, public and industrial facilities, and apartment buildings’ in Armenia under the Land Code that came into effect in 2001. And the law does not classify foreign citizens by the country of citizenship and could not have classified them. Just like the requirement for a deputy or prime minister candidate to not have foreign citizenship cannot be specifically applied to citizens of Cyprus or Russia but rather applies to all foreign citizens in general,” he wrote.
