The Foreign Ministry Presents the Objectives of the New EU Mission in Armenia

Armenia welcomes the decision of the EU Foreign Affairs Council to deploy a new civil mission in the Republic of Armenia, which aims to support the strengthening of democratic resilience in Armenia, address hybrid threats, including misinformation, cyberattacks, and efforts to combat illicit financial flows.

The Foreign Ministry reports that the mission will be deployed for an initial period of two years and will contribute to the development of institutional capacities in the aforementioned areas and enhance the resilience of Armenian society to current challenges.

The decision on the deployment of the civil mission, made based on Armenia's application, is part of a series of joint initiatives stemming from the strategic agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, ahead of the first Armenia-EU summit scheduled for May 5.
