Details of the Explosion at Nubarashen Landfill

During a procedural meeting of the Yerevan City Hall, details of the explosion at the Nubarashen landfill and the health condition of the injured were discussed. It was reported during the meeting that the incident occurred while trying to identify the causes of an unusual odor in the restroom. When the director entered the room and turned on the light, an explosion occurred.

It was noted that both the director and a staff member are in serious but stable condition. Mayor Tigran Avinyan, addressing the incident, emphasized the need for comprehensive monitoring at the landfill. He described the event as a very unfortunate incident, adding that the environment is quite dangerous and all locations where people are present must be equipped with the appropriate tools.

According to the mayor, although extensive work has been carried out at the landfill, such incidents indicate that there are still measures to be taken regarding the enforcement of safety regulations.
