Iran Plans to Hold the US and Israel Accountable

The Islamic Republic of Iran is planning to utilize all international and domestic legal mechanisms to hold the United States and Israel accountable. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, stated that the actions taken against the country's military and political leaders are regarded by Tehran as crimes against humanity.

According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry representative, the steps taken by Washington and Tel Aviv endanger international security and peace. The diplomat, referencing the Geneva Conventions of 1949, emphasized that respect for international humanitarian law is the obligation of all states. He asserted that UN member states should also pursue the issue of punishing those who violate these principles.

It is noteworthy that since February 28, the US and Israel have conducted targeted strikes on various locations in Iran, including Tehran. As a result of these military operations, high-ranking officials have been killed, including Iran’s spiritual leader Ali Khamenei, as well as senior officials from the government and security structures, including the Minister of Defense, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
