Iran Issues New Demands to the U.S.
Iran's spiritual leader's representative, Abdul Majid Hakim Ilahi, has made a statement demanding the prompt withdrawal of American military ships from the Persian Gulf. The official, currently in India, questioned the presence of U.S. naval forces in the region, emphasizing that it does not contribute to stability.
According to Ilahi, the Islamic Republic possesses sufficient capabilities and resources to independently ensure the safe movement of all types of vessels in the Gulf waters. He highlighted that Tehran's goal is to maintain an open and safe environment for navigation, but the current geopolitical situation renders this aspect problematic.
The Iranian official called on the international community and peace-seeking forces to unite in order to prevent regional military operations. He stated that a definitive resolution to crises is only possible by excluding wars.
This demand comes in the context of another escalation of regional tensions, where the issue of controlling maritime routes has become central.
