Washington Must Make a Decision: Ghalibaf
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament has stated that Washington must take steps to restore Tehran's trust.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the President of the Iranian Parliament, addressed the negotiation process on his page on the X social network and announced that the American side has failed to gain the trust of Iranian negotiators. According to the official, despite the constructive and promising initiatives presented by the Iranian "Minab-168" delegation, the outcome remains uncertain.
Ghalibaf emphasized that the United States is already familiar with the principles and logic adopted by Iran. He stated that now Washington must orient itself and decide whether it is ready to prove its reliability through practical steps and restore the existing trust deficit between the parties.
The head of the parliament reaffirmed that Tehran has entered negotiations with goodwill and determination; however, past experiences do not allow for unconditional trust in the opposing side. He noted that Iran views diplomacy as a means to protect the rights of its people while continuing to strengthen the country's defensive achievements.
The Iranian side's position remains unchanged: diplomatic efforts will not cease, but they must be based on mutual respect and the safeguarding of Iran's national interests.
