Trump's 'Deafening' Silence: What to Expect
The diplomatic discussions between Iran and the United States in Islamabad have concluded, but the primary question remains hanging in the air: will diplomacy prevail, or will the region revert to military actions? This is reported by Al Jazeera.
The analysis notes that, unlike the 2015 Nuclear Deal, which required years of work, the current agenda is significantly more expansive. One of the key issues under discussion is the crisis surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, which directly stems from the current war situation.
“While the world awaits a response from the White House, U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance has already stated that the American proposal is on the table. According to him, Iran still has the opportunity to reconsider and return to a constructive field. However, the most important voice—the response from President Donald Trump—has not yet been heard. Experts are calling this silence 'deafening'. Just days ago, the President made hard-edged statements on social media, threatening 'the annihilation of entire civilizations'. This contradiction creates a dangerous uncertainty,” the outlet writes.
It should be noted that currently a ceasefire is in place between the parties, with approximately 10 days remaining until its expiration. Excluding Israel, the international community and Pakistan are making every effort to maintain the ceasefire and find a diplomatic solution.
The coming hours will be crucial: will Trump choose the path of peace, or will the world witness the resumption of military operations?
