Disappointed with NATO: Trump
The U.S. President has criticized the North Atlantic Alliance for not participating in regional issues resolution.
U.S. President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News, stated that Washington is experiencing deep disappointment with the policy adopted by NATO. According to the leader of the White House, allies have not demonstrated appropriate operational readiness during critical events, complicating the resolution of existing problems.
The President emphasized that although NATO members currently express a desire to engage in the processes and support the cleanup efforts of the strait, they previously shied away from responsibility. According to Trump, the U.S. side intends to complete the cleanup of the area independently, after which the waterway will be accessible for unimpeded navigation.
The U.S. President also added that there have been very complex and intense negotiations with allies regarding these issues. He stressed that after the completion of the works, the strait will quickly return to normal operating mode, which is strategically significant for the region.
