Russian Observer to Participate in Armenian Elections

The Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Russia, Ella Pamfilova, has been invited to Armenia, announced the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Armenia, Vahagn Hovakimyan. According to him, the visit was one of the topics discussed during Hovakimyan's recent meeting with the Russian Ambassador Sergey Kopirkin.

Hovakimyan noted that the meeting with the ambassador had been planned in advance and was unrelated to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s recent visit to Moscow. Kopirkin visited the CEC to familiarize himself with the upcoming elections and to prepare for the possible visit of the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Russia.

During their last meeting, Hovakimyan mentioned that the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Russia had invited him to participate in the observation mission for the State Duma elections in September, while he himself had extended an invitation for Pamfilova to come to Armenia.
