Artificial Intelligence to Assess Road Conditions
The Government of Armenia plans to acquire a road evaluation device that utilizes artificial intelligence to determine what types of repairs are necessary for the roads.
This was announced by David Khudatyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, during the government meeting on April 9. He stated that the issue of acquiring the road evaluation device has already been discussed.
The cost of the equipment is estimated to be around 500-600 million drams. “It will allow us to map the roads completely, and by integrating artificial intelligence, determine what kind of repairs need to be done on the road. The equipment will drive over the road and advise us whether we need to carry out minor repairs or major renovations, what depth we should work at, and so on,” Khudatyan elaborated.
