Investigative Committee on the Tragic Accident in Shirak Province

It was previously reported that vehicles overturned near the town of Aghin in Shirak Province. According to Auroranews.am, the Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal proceeding in relation to the tragic accident.

“A criminal case has been initiated regarding the car accident that occurred in the territory of Aghin in Shirak Province, under the features of Article 342, Part 3 of the Criminal Code (violation of the requirements to ensure road traffic safety or the rules ensuring the safety of road traffic or the operation of vehicles, which negligently caused the death of two or more persons). Forensic medical examinations have been appointed,” the agency reported.

Additionally, Auroranews.am learned from the Ministry of Health that 11 citizens were injured as a result of the accident. “Five children have been hospitalized through the Republican Ambulance Service, two of whom unfortunately could not be saved. The transfer of three injured children to Yerevan medical facilities is being organized,” the report stated.
