PezeShkian Warns: Iran's Hand is on the Trigger
Iranian President Masoud PezeShkian has stated that the continuation of Israeli strikes in Lebanon could render negotiations between Iran and the United States meaningless, casting doubt on the viability of any potential agreements.
PezeShkian wrote on the X social platform that the new assault by the 'Zionist regime' is a gross violation of the preliminary ceasefire agreement. He emphasized that such developments are a dangerous signal and may indicate a failure to uphold future agreements.
He also noted that Tehran will not ignore the events taking place in Lebanon and will not 'leave its Lebanese brothers and sisters alone.'
Previously, U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance had stated that there was a 'reasonable misunderstanding' regarding Lebanon, mentioning that Washington had not guaranteed abstaining from strikes in Lebanon under the ceasefire framework.
