Breakthrough Revelation on US-Iran Ceasefire
Recently, renowned Western publication Financial Times has reported that the initiator of the ceasefire was US President Donald Trump, rather than the Iranian government. Financial Times states that the Trump administration exerted secret pressure on the ceasefire for weeks, aiming to alleviate the economic burden stemming from Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Washington hoped to use Pakistan as a mediator. The Chief of Pakistan's Army Staff, Asim Munir, maintained contact with Iranian officials, special envoy Steve Witkoff, Vice President Pence, and even Trump personally, despite the president threatening to destroy Iranian civilization on Tuesday.
According to five sources familiar with diplomatic communications, Trump had been calling for a ceasefire since March 21, when he first threatened to strike Iranian power plants.
