Go Find Whomever You Want, I Am Not Your Backup: Kocharyan

Efforts must be made to explain to people the kind of consequences that may arise. This was stated by the second President Robert Kocharyan during the podcast titled 'Great Politics.'

'In general, the formulation that Armenia provides is offensive to Russia. The insult lies in the fact that we are moving towards Europe, which has no realistic basis, but we are moving towards Europe. When it becomes convenient for us, we will make that decision. We understand that the EEU and the EU are incompatible, we understand that at some point we will withdraw, but you stay there, and when we decide, then we will leave.'

'I would suggest that the people try to create a visual model: you are the owner of a small business, and your business is simply 90% dependent on a major business that is about 50 times larger than you, and you are always telling that major business, “Well, you know, I am cooperating with you to a certain extent, but as soon as I find a more suitable partner, I will leave you.” And you are constantly talking about this publicly. What will that large business do? One day it will say, “Hey man, who are you?” It will sever its ties with you and say, “Go find whomever you wish, I am not your backup.”

From a purely human relationship perspective, this is also offensive. Even if you think that way, you shouldn't be talking about it at every turn,' he noted.
