China's Role in Securing a Ceasefire Agreement
U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that China has played a role in the process of acquiring a two-week ceasefire agreement between Washington and Tehran. This was reported by the France Presse agency.
According to the U.S. President, Beijing has contributed to Iran’s willingness to engage in negotiations and accept the terms of a temporary halt. Previously, the Associated Press also noted that Chinese intermediaries have been involved in the formulation of agreements between the parties.
Trump indicated that the United States is prepared to suspend attacks on Iran for two weeks. The ceasefire regime is expected to be mutual and will be in effect for the designated period.
The Supreme National Security Council of Iran has also confirmed its readiness to participate in negotiations. A meeting between the parties is scheduled for April 10 in Islamabad. The Iranian side has also stated that the negotiation process is expected to conclude within the two-week timeframe, during which the ceasefire will be maintained.
