We Agree with the TRIPPA Format: Narek Karapetyan

Narek Karapetyan, a member of the 'Strong Armenia' party council, responded during a broadcast on Armenia TV to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement regarding the participation of the second president Robert Kocharian and businessmen Samvel Karapetyan and Gagik Tsarukyan in elections, labeling their efforts as a 'trio of war parties.'

'This government has brought three wars; how can it criticize others for anything?' Karapetyan stated. 'We agree with the TRIPPA format and the text of the peace agreement; the only difference is that we want new guarantees. We do not need a paper with Ilham; we need a document with other signatures apart from ours and Azerbaijan's that will allow us to maintain our territorial integrity. That is real peace. We need strong diplomacy; we must have a peace with closed doors, a peace that does not open the doors of Syunik, as they say.'

Karapetyan also emphasized that, under the TRIPPA format, the U.S. acts as a witness, not a guarantor.
