Ceasefire Does Not Extend to Lebanon, Netanyahu
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's statement, noting that the two-week ceasefire agreed between the U.S. and Iran does not pertain to Lebanon.
In an official clarification, it emphasized that the agreement is limited to U.S.-Iran relations and does not extend to other regional fronts. Meanwhile, Israel has expressed its support for U.S. President Donald Trump's initiative to temporarily halt strikes against Iran.
The Israeli side stated that the implementation of this decision is conditional upon Iran's immediate opening of oil routes and ceasing attacks against the U.S., Israel, and other countries in the region. Additionally, it was highlighted that Israel backs U.S. efforts to ensure that Iran no longer poses nuclear, missile, or terrorist threats.
Netanyahu's office also reported that Washington has confirmed to Israel its commitment to these objectives in upcoming negotiations. Earlier, Shahbaz Sharif had claimed that the ceasefire extends to Lebanon and other countries, but the Israeli side has denied this assertion.
