VIDEO: Powerful Explosion Under Panama Canal Bridge

A powerful explosion and fire occurred under the bridge crossing the Panama Canal, damaging three fuel tankers, according to the fire department.

Initial reports indicate that a fire broke out on the tanks under the bridge before the explosion occurred. The fire subsequently spread to nearby fuel-carrying trucks.

As a result of the incident, three people were injured. Two civilians with second-degree burns were taken to the hospital, while the fate of another remains unknown. Following the incident, transportation on the bridge has been temporarily halted.

It is also noted that an explosion had previously occurred on tankers near the shores of Kuwait. Initial information suggests that the crew members were unharmed; however, an oil spill from the cargo area was reported after the explosion.
