US Announces Plans to Impeach Pentagon Chief, Media Reports

Representative Yasamin Ansari of the Democratic Party has announced intentions to introduce articles of impeachment against Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth next week, regarding the management methods used in operations conducted in Iran. This was reported by the Axios portal, citing the lawmaker's statement.

Ansari noted that Hegseth's decisions have jeopardized the lives and health of American service members. According to her, the approaches utilized during the operation could also be considered military crimes.

The portal mentioned that earlier, Democratic senators had pointed out the Secretary of Defense's negligent attitude towards the use of force. These assessments have become one of the foundations for the current initiative.

The representative stated that in the coming days, she will officially present the necessary documents to initiate the impeachment process, with the aim of starting discussions in Congress.
