New Details on the Case of the Young Man Murdered in Abovyan: Three Individuals Arrested

In the case of the murder of 24-year-old Sargis Zeynalayan, during a court session at the Kotayk Regional Court, only 18 out of 28 persons arrested for the brawl have been designated as defendants, with three individuals currently in custody.

This information was provided to Auroranews.am by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. "Criminal proceedings have been initiated against 18 individuals during the pre-investigation phase, of which 3 have been remanded in custody, while the others have been subject to a prohibition on leaving the country," reported the agency.

Recall that earlier it was reported that during the court session at the Charentsavan Court in the Kotayk region, a brawl occurred between the relatives of the defendant and the victim, resulting in damage to court property and injuries to judicial administrators, several of whom sustained bodily harm.

The murder of the young man occurred on November 10, 2025, in the city of Abovyan, when two individuals attacked 24-year-old Sargis Zeynalayan and inflicted stab wounds, leading to his death. Relatives of the deceased indicate that months prior, during the Wine Festival, there had been a dispute involving Zeynalayan and the young man accused of his murder.
