India May Use Snakes and Crocodiles to Protect Its Borders

India may deploy snakes and crocodiles in areas along the India-Bangladesh border where traditional barriers cannot be installed due to rivers and swamps. This information has been reported by Indian media citing the Border Security Force.

The focus is on the approximately 175-km-long riverine and swampy segments of the border, which complicate efforts to combat infiltration and smuggling.

At the same time, the Border Security Force is enhancing monitoring with modern technology, including drones, sensors, and cameras.

Recently, there have been recorded incidents of smuggling at the border, including the discovery and seizure of a significant quantity of gold. This has prompted the need for a new decision.
