18+ VIDEO: Dog Fighting Organized, Alen Simonian Urges Prompt Response
A tense situation unfolded near the city of Spitak. Members of the 'Dingo Team' documented a dog fight and informed the approaching organizers that such activities are illegal and prohibited in our country.
By calling the police hotline at 102, the team members approached the site of the dog fighting before the police arrived. They broadcasted live as they recorded how dogs were being placed in the trunks of vehicles, and they showed visible injuries on one of the animals.
Initially, one individual approached them in a civil manner and asked what they were doing in the area, but later another person attempted to remove them from the premises, even trying to strike them. 'Get out of here; this is by invitation only, you aren't invited,' the man said.
Alen Simonian, the President of the National Assembly, posted a video on his Facebook page, accompanying it with the note: 'I urge the police of the Republic of Armenia to respond.'
It should be noted that under Simonian's post, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Narek Sargsyan, commented: 'Mr. Simonian, the community police officers from the Spitak division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs immediately responded to the incident. They have arrested three individuals on suspicion of animal cruelty, hooliganism, and physical assault. Additionally, five vehicles containing eight dogs have been moved to the secured area of the police department,' wrote Sargsyan.
