War is Not a Solution, Macron
During his visit to South Korea, French President Emmanuel Macron addressed recent developments surrounding Iran and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. He stated that the strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran cannot resolve the country's nuclear program issue, instead emphasizing the necessity of diplomatic avenues.
“If there is no clear framework for diplomatic and technical negotiations, the situation could escalate again in a few months or years,” Macron said. The French president also deemed the proposal to open the Strait of Hormuz through military means as unrealistic.
“This would require disproportionately long periods and expose anyone trying to transit through the strait to serious dangers. The threats posed by the Revolutionary Guard in the coastal areas, which possess significant resources, ballistic missiles, and numerous other risks, are present,” he noted.
