Let's Return Them to the Stone Age: Trump's Threat to Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that within the next two to three weeks, Washington may intensify military operations against Iran in a bid to prevent the country from acquiring nuclear weapons. He stated that the United States continues to negotiate with Tehran but is prepared to take hard measures if no agreement is reached. 'We will return them to the Stone Age, where they belong.'
During his speech at the White House, Trump indicated that the U.S. could strike Iran's energy infrastructure. He emphasized that such a move would be considered a pressure tactic if negotiations do not yield results. At the same time, he added that the U.S. is nearing the 'end of its military issues.'
Trump also declared that Iran's nuclear capabilities pose a threat to the U.S. and must be weakened. He asserted that the U.S. has destroyed Iran's naval forces and missile capabilities, as well as contributed to political changes within the country, although these claims were not elaborated upon.
Additionally, the U.S. president addressed the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that Washington does not plan to initiate efforts regarding its reopening. He called on countries dependent on the strait to ensure their own navigability and consider alternative options, including purchasing oil from the U.S.
