VIDEO. Protest Rally at Yerevan's Kindergarten No. 94
This morning, a protest rally is taking place at Kindergarten No. 94 in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan. Parents are demanding the resignation of director P'arandzem Miribyan. They assert that due to the director's behavior, who was appointed nearly a year ago, educators are leaving their jobs one after another, and the parents' patience was exhausted when ten educators simultaneously submitted their resignations.
One parent mentioned in an interview with reporters that there are no specialists working with children requiring inclusive education, as they do not come to work. According to him, such specialists are registered on paper, but do not operate in reality. “They have never been at work; instead, there are fictitious registered employees who receive salaries while sitting at home. Here, it’s a matter of associates and friends being appointed,” said the parent.
A total of 190 parents have signed a petition directed to various organizations, including the Yerevan City Hall and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MoESCS). They state that either the issue will be resolved or they will withdraw their children from the kindergarten.
Currently, representatives from the Yerevan City Hall and the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district are present at the kindergarten; however, director P'arandzem Miribyan has locked her office door and is not allowing anyone inside.
