Details from the Court Hearing of the Young Man Killed in Abovyan: Argument, Brawl

Earlier, it was reported that a brawl occurred between the accused and relatives of the victim during a court hearing at the Charentsavan court in Kotayk province, resulting in broken court property and injuries to several court officers.

According to the press secretary of the Supreme Judicial Council, Tsovinar Khachatryan, one of the officers sustained a head injury. “Currently, officer Vahan H. is at home, we are in direct contact with him, he feels well and we will provide additional information if there are any changes. This was the first court session and our officers were implementing enhanced service during the hearing,” said Khachatryan.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed Auroranews that “police officers prevented the incident, and 31 individuals were arrested on suspicion of hooliganism and taken to the Charentsavan municipal police department.”

Additionally, according to ArmLur, “a chaotic situation developed at the Charentsavan court. A fight broke out between the parties involved in the case concerning the murder of Sarkis Zeynalyan, the nephew of Constitutional Court judge Artak Zeynalyan.”
