Zelensky Presents Trump's Approach to Ending the War

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Donald Trump's team is discussing a scenario for ending the war with Russia, pressuring Ukraine to make territorial concessions.

In an interview with Axios, Zelensky stated that Trump’s representatives see no other option for stopping Vladimir Putin except for the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the Donetsk region. He emphasized that such an approach raises serious concerns.

Zelensky highlighted that Ukraine is not the aggressor and should not have to 'pay' with its territory to stop the war. He pointed out that such decisions could jeopardize national security.

“I am confident that President Trump and his team want to end the war. My concern is that they see only one way to achieve that. They see no other way to stop Putin than to withdraw Ukrainian troops from our territory. But why should we pay for that? We are not the aggressors. I am worried that no one truly assesses the danger such a decision poses to our security,” Zelensky said.
