Tehran Has Its Calculations: Araqchi on Negotiations
Iran has not yet made a decision regarding starting negotiations with the United States and has not sent a response to Washington’s proposals. This was stated by Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in an interview with Al Jazeera.
According to him, there are no negotiations with any separate party within Iran, and messages are exchanged exclusively through the Foreign Ministry. At the same time, Araqchi noted that communications are also maintained between power structures.
The minister added that the transmission of messages is carried out following established procedures, under the oversight of the Cabinet and the Supreme National Security Council. He also indicated that Tehran has not responded to the 15 proposals from the U.S. and has not put forward any counter-initiatives or preconditions.
Araqchi stated that there is still no final decision regarding negotiations, as Tehran has its calculations and approaches. At the same time, he mentioned that, in his assessment, the necessary conditions for ending the war are clear.
