Armenia Among the World's Safest Countries

The Global Terrorism Index 2026 (GTI) has released a report categorizing countries according to their level of terrorist threat and its impact. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, the published data shows that Armenia continues to strengthen its position among the world's safest countries.

“Compared to last year, our country has improved its index. With an almost zero score of 0.423, Armenia ranks among the countries with 'very low' impact of terrorism in a list of 163 states. The methodology for calculating the index is based on a range of comprehensive indicators, including the frequency of terrorist incidents, the number of victims and injuries, as well as the extent of material damage caused. The occurrence of hostage situations, the effectiveness of law enforcement responses, and the quality of investigation into such crimes also play a significant role in shaping the index,” the statement noted. This positive trend characterizes Armenia as a country protected from terrorist risks and with high security.
