Pentagon Plans Ground Operations in Iran

The Pentagon is preparing for several weeks of ground operations in Iran, according to The Washington Post. U.S. officials report that the Pentagon is devising plans for ground operations expected to last several weeks in Iran. Thousands of American soldiers and Marines are already arriving in the Middle East, signaling the potential start of a dangerous phase in the conflict if President Donald Trump decides to escalate.

The operation does not involve a full-scale invasion but will engage special forces and ground troops. Such a mission carries numerous threats for the American forces involved. As of Saturday, it remained unclear whether Trump would fully approve the Pentagon's proposed plans, partially accept them, or reject them entirely.

However, it is known that U.S. Marines have already arrived in the Middle East aboard the USS Tripoli. The strike group includes approximately 3,500 servicemen, as well as an aviation wing.
