New Plan for Actions Against Iran Being Developed: UAE to Join

The United Arab Emirates has announced its readiness to participate in an international operation that could be carried out in the Strait of Hormuz to ensure the restoration of maritime navigation. This was reported by the Financial Times, citing its sources.

According to the publication, the UAE is prepared to join any multinational military coalition that may operate in the region. At the same time, the country is working jointly with Bahrain on a draft resolution for the UN Security Council that provides for the mandate necessary for such actions.

It is noted that the initiative is not seen as the beginning of a war against Iran.

The UAE authorities are also conducting negotiations with Saudi Arabia to secure Riyadh's support for the plan. Bahrain has already expressed its support for the maritime restoration initiative. Meanwhile, several other Gulf countries have not yet made a final decision due to concerns that the US might unexpectedly withdraw from the process.

Sources from the publication indicate that the countries in the region may also expedite the development of alternative routes for energy carrier transportation, including the construction of pipelines and railway infrastructure towards Oman or the Mediterranean Sea.
