Marc Ryutenn Discusses Peace Between Armenia and Azerbaijan

In NATO's 2025 annual report, particular attention has been paid to the South Caucasus, recognizing it as a region of paramount importance for the alliance's security. The document notes that the region continues to bear the impact of Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine.

One of the key points of the report concerns the "significant progress" recorded in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The alliance welcomed the preliminary signing of a peace agreement in August 2025, considering it a decisive step towards the normalization of relations and the assurance of regional security.

NATO has also expressed its willingness to deepen dialogue and cooperation with both countries.

Regarding Georgia, it is noted that the alliance has revised its cooperation priorities following the parliamentary elections in 2024. While some projects have been altered, military cooperation has continued, as evidenced by the successful exercises conducted in May. The NATO liaison office in Tbilisi remains active in its outreach to the three partners in the region.
