Increase in Water Volume Observed in Debed: Aren Mkrtchyan

Due to heavy rainfall, an increase in water volume is observed in Debed. This was reported by the Governor of Lori region, Aren Mkrtchyan.

Along with the published video, the governor wrote: “I ask citizens to maintain distance from riverside areas. Those citizens who have riverside gardens or livestock barns are advised to suspend agricultural activities today and for the next two days. I urge everyone to stay alert.”

“Today, I held an extended meeting with the leaders of the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ rescue and patrol services, regional police subdivisions, community leaders, directors of medical centers in the region, representatives from electric companies, Veolia, Gazprom, and several other responsible officials. We have clearly divided responsibilities and are working in a 24/7 mode,” he emphasized.

“I would like to highlight that last year, extensive work on cleaning the Debed River was carried out with the involvement of dozens of heavy machinery units.”
