Trump's Statements Are a Bluff, Attempt to Exit the 'Quagmire' of War Says Iran’s Ambassador
Donald Trump's statements regarding negotiations with Iran are a bluff and are more akin to an attempt to extricate the U.S. from the 'quagmire' of war. This was stated by the Iranian ambassador to Armenia in an interview with ArmeniaSputnik.
According to him, military actions have not unfolded according to the American plan, and now Washington is trying to quickly withdraw from the situation while maintaining its reputation before the domestic audience.
The ambassador noted that the U.S. is also seeking to stabilize global energy markets while simultaneously inciting internal divisions in Iran. “The Iranian people will continue to defend their country until the aggressor regrets its actions. Trump is not in a position to dictate terms,” said Khalil Shirgoli.
He added that some of Iran's neighbors—Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan—are willing to mediate in negotiations. Tehran highly values these initiatives, but it is still early to assess how much they will translate into an actual process.
