The War Could Last Another 3 Years, Zelensky Believes
The ongoing war in Ukraine could continue for another three years, and to prepare for this scenario, the authorities are discussing appropriate frameworks for state governance. This was reported by Ukrainian Pravda, citing parliamentary sources.
According to the publication, President Volodymyr Zelensky has tasked Andrey Motovilov, the first deputy head of the Servant of the People faction, with developing a work program for the Verkhovna Rada under conditions where military operations may continue for one to three years. It is noted that the initiative is prompted by the slowdown of the negotiations process.
Sources indicate that the halt in negotiations is partly due to the shifting attention of the United States towards the developing situation in the Middle East. In this context, various scenarios for the functioning of parliament are expected to be developed amid long-term uncertainty.
Meanwhile, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, announced that the activities of the trilateral working group on security issues, involving Russia, the USA, and Ukraine, have been suspended. He also expressed hope that negotiations would resume when the US could allocate more attention to the process.
