New Building for Yerevan's Kindergarten No. 24 Designed for Around 180 Children
Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan has announced the commencement of construction for Kindergarten No. 24 in Yerevan, placing a symbolic capsule at the site. Instead of the dilapidated old building, which has a history of over 90 years, a new facility is being built. This will enable the formation of six groups instead of three, allowing approximately 180 children to attend the kindergarten, compared to the previous capacity of 80. This information was provided by the Yerevan Municipality.
“The old building of the kindergarten was completely in a state of disrepair, and seizing the opportunity, we decided to construct a new one, expanding the area and capabilities of the kindergarten. The construction is being carried out according to the most modern standards. In fact, the construction works carried out by us should be exemplary, so that the private sector can take us as an example,” emphasized the mayor.
The project is being implemented with community budget funds. A 20 kW solar photovoltaic system will be installed on the roof of the kindergarten, along with a solar water heater, a new boiler room, and a heating system. The building will be fully equipped with fire safety, water supply, internal sewage, and stormwater drainage systems, as well as ventilation and surveillance systems.
As part of the project, the yard will also be improved: the green area will be expanded, a playground will be constructed, conversation areas, benches, and trash bins will be installed, and an irrigation system and outdoor lighting network will be set up.
