Blunt Object Used to Assault and Victim Thrown Out of Window: Investigation Committee

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed that a death that occurred on February 10, 2022, was not a suicide but rather a murder committed by a group of individuals acting in prior agreement. This was reported by the Investigative Committee.

Specifically, during the extensive evidentiary and procedural actions carried out within the framework of this criminal case, it was determined that I.A. had moved from Vanadzor to Yerevan in 2020 for educational purposes and settled in the apartment of spouses A.T. and E.M., who were relatives of him and his family.

The day before the incident, a dispute occurred between I.A. and A.T. at their shared residence, during which I.A. sustained life-threatening injuries from at least one blow with a blunt object. Following this, the couple threw the victim out of the kitchen window of the apartment, resulting in I.A.'s death on February 10, 2022.

On March 24, 2026, public criminal prosecution was initiated against the spouses under Article 104, Part 2, Point 7 of the Criminal Code adopted on April 18, 2003 (murder). A.T. has been remanded in custody, while E.M. is subject to a travel ban.

The investigation into the criminal case is ongoing,” the statement reads.
