European Council President Accuses Orbán of Crossing 'Red Line'

The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, has stated that the behavior of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has crossed a 'red line' during the Brussels summit and violated the principles of cooperation that underpin the European Union. According to Politico, Costa described Orbán's conduct as 'unacceptable' and emphasized that no leader has ever crossed this 'red line' before.

Diplomats have noted that the level of disappointment regarding Orbán's actions has reached unprecedented heights. The sharp statement came in response to Budapest's position, which had suspended the provision of a €90 billion loan to Ukraine. Hungary and Slovakia are demanding that Kyiv address the issue of oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline, which was damaged during Russian attacks in January.
