Decades-Old Mystery Revealed: Reuters on Possible Identity of Banksy

Reuters has published the findings of a years-long investigation into the identity of the street artist known as Banksy. According to the investigation, Banksy's real name may be David Jones, and he was previously known as Robin Gunningham. His identity has been sought after for years by both journalists and fans.

Reporters spoke with dozens of sources and experts, analyzed photographs, and looked into previously unpublished court documents and police reports. These documents pertain to his arrest in the U.S. and a trip he took to Ukraine in 2022.

Banksy’s lawyer, Mark Stephens, has not confirmed this information and warned that the publication of such details could pose a risk to the artist and disrupt his work.

Interestingly, in a 2003 interview, which was published later, the artist referred to himself as 'Robbie.'

Despite the new revelations, Banksy's true identity remains officially unconfirmed.
